CLUGNY, ANSE DES ILES, AMANDIERS NORTHERN BEACHES ON BASSE TERRE
The northern beaches are located after La Perle Beach, when heading towards Sainte Rose. La Perle is a stunning but sometimes crowded beach and for those seeking a bit more peace a few kilometers are sufficient for finding small paradise beaches.
At least three of these beaches are attractive, both similar and very different.
Leaving La Perle northward the road comes a bit further inland, runs along the area of Fort Royal Hotel before heading to the tip du Vieux Fort and down again towards the coast, along the beach Clugny.
A large stretch of golden sand with often a somewhat rough seaside. But the beach is magnificent with view of the Islet Kahouane. A large wooded area allows to park in the shade. The Western section (the first if arriving from the south), is the most enjoyable.

BEACH ANSE DES ILES
Continuing the route to Sainte Rose after the beach Clugny a few hundred meters further a small road to the left, between the houses. There is a signpost at the entrance but a little cleared.
The path is somewhat bumpy, passing between homes to reach just over a very beautiful small sandy cove.
The car can be parked in the shade and the beach is sheltered. It seems a little frequented by local residents. Calm assured!
BEACH LES AMANDIERS
Going on eastwards, after leaving Plessis Nogent, a sign indicates the beach Les Amandiers! The little bit of road is right and leads to a small intersection. Turning right is going to the eastern end of the beach, wilder.
Turning left the road goes down to a nice esplanade for parking. Be careful, avoid standing under a coconut tree!
Small paths lead to carbets and the beach. It is not very wide but swimming is nice. No shadow on the beach, apart under the carbets!
